Hi Brigitte,
I have used DMSO on my horses but not used it on dogs or cats. The only advice I can give you is to NOT wrap it and to make sure you do not get any on your hands when you use it. It will give you the worst case of bad breath you have ever had. I have a horse with chronic arthritis and she is getting the oral version of DMSO which is MSM.
I know of people who have had chronic back pain who have used DMSO with good results it did not burn their skin.
I am not familiar with Comfrey as a drawing agent, so I can't comment on it's use.

Hi Roxanne,
The infection is below the skin around the joint. It was caused by an unsteralized or
improperly steralized needle i presume. It is the sight where she had an IV back in July
and that was when she got the infection.
I have a comfrey drawing salve. Could that help this situation if there is no wound?
This is why I want to try DMSO. I giving a different silver a try through the weekend. If
this and my vets homepathic remedies don't show improvements, I want to try the DMSO.
Thanks,
Brigitte
