I'm not from Texas but I started attending my support group and
reading posts on this site six months before surgery as my husband's
insurance is BCBS of Tx (even though we live in NJ) and I too had to
do the six month supervised doctor visits. I think it was helpful
attending early and other people were there that were preop also and
most of all I still felt welcomed by the group. Good luck with the
prebanding process and the six months goes by very quickly. Actually
it wasn't bad because it gave me time to get all the insurance
requirements done without rushing and my insurance was approved in two
weeks!
